  • Forensic Engineering Open Day

    National Centre of Tribology

    Thursday 15th October 2015

The prestigious National Centre of Tribology (NCT) at ESR Technology will be holding an open day on Thursday 15th October to officially open their new purpose built facility and to provide a series of presentations showcasing the breadth of Forensic Engineering capabilities.

    Date: Thursday 15th October 2015 – 10am until 3pm

Venue: ESR Technology Ltd – National Centre of Tribology (NCT)

202 Cavendish Place, Birchwood Park, Warrington, Cheshire, WA3 6WU

    Who should attend?

Typical attendees that will find the day useful are operators and plant owners, maintenance engineers, designers, mechanical engineers and those who regularly encounter engineering challenges as a result of failure and reliability issues.  The day will also be useful to metals and manufacturing industries.

The open day will be organised and run by our world class technical experts and will provide a series of informal seminars relating to the operation and failure of equipment such as rotating plant, oil and gas applications, rail industry and utilities.  The short seminars will be approximately 30 minutes each and cover the following issues with time being allocated for discussion afterwards:

    • Forensic Engineering and materials assessment
    • Bearing technology and failure mechanisms

    • Wear and friction testing

    • Instrumentation and condition monitoring

We welcome people to put forward questions relating to their own engineering challenges so our experienced technical staff can provide their views and opinions on the day.

A tour of our new laboratory which includes an Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM), white light interferometry, bespoke test rig facilities and optical microscopy suite will also be included along with a buffet lunch.

The open day will start at 9.30am for refreshments with informal presentations commencing at 10.00am.  A free lunch will be provided which will then be followed by a laboratory tour before finishing the day with time for informal one to one discussions

Proceedings are expected to conclude by 3pm.

Attendance is free, but limited places are available, therefore we urge attendees to reserve a place by emailing info@esrtechnology.com or call Rory Taylor on 01925 843459.  If you cannot attend the open day but would still like to visit us to see our laboratory facilities or discuss a particular problem then feel free to get in touch.

If you have special dietary requirements please include this information in the reservation.
