The Pump Centre

The Pump Centre is a membership organisation that provides its members with a range of services associated with pumps, pumping systems and related plant and equipment. Incorporated within Arcadis Consulting UK Ltd, the Centre utilises the expertise of engineers from across the UK pump industry.

Young Engineers Award Nomination 2017

The Pump Centre presents its prestigious Young Engineer of the Year Award at its annual Conference, which is held at the International Centre, Telford.

The award is aimed at young engineers working anywhere in the supply chain from Pump Users, Consultants, Contractors, Manufacturers and Component & Service Suppliers.

The award is open to those engineers who have made a significant contribution to their company in the area of pumps, systems and the associated equipment. Their contribution could be in any of the following disciplines:

  • Design
  • Specification
  • Project management
  • Technical support
  • Maintenance
  • Operations

There are three award categories that are aimed at engineers that have taken different routes both practical and academic:

1) Professional Engineer
To qualify the candidate must:
Be 28 years of age or less – on 1st March 2017.
Have a formal qualification in Engineering or a related subject.

2) Technician
To qualify the candidate must:
Be 24 years of age or less – on 1st March 2017.
Have proven experience on engineering projects.

3) Apprentice
To qualify the candidate must:
Be 22 years of age or less – on 1st March 2017.
Have proven experience on engineering projects.

The winner of the award will receive package of prizes worth about £600:

  1. A commemorative certificate / trophy.
  2. A gift worth up to £200 (e.g. a tablet, digital camera etc.) 
  3. A one day Pump Centre training course (worth up to £350).
  4. A copy of the Pump Centre’s Pumping Station Design Guide. 
  5. An invite to the Pump Centre Conference Dinner on the evening of 10th May 2017.
