HOIS

ESR Technology managed HOIS, a well established (>40 years) joint industry project on good practice for NDT/NDE in the energy industry. 

Members comprise (currently >35):

• Category 1 (GBP 33.99k + VAT): energy operators
• Category 2 (GBP 11.33k + VAT): NDT service companies, equipment vendors, notified/appointed bodies, The Net Zero Technology Centre and a UK regulatory authority (HSE)

The HOIS vision is to be the best forum for the energy industry to improve the effectiveness of in-service non-destructive testing.  We aim to promote good practice in:

• More reliable in-service inspection - better detection of in-service degradation
• More accurate measurements of remaining wall thickness
• Providing asset owners with improved information on asset condition
• Reducing leaks and near misses.

HOIS achieves these objectives by:

• Developing good practice documents for specific applications - recommended practices and contribution to international standards which feed into company inspection procedures.
• Assessment of the performance of current and developing inspection techniques by means of rigorously controlled blind trials
• Being the leading industry forum for latest developments - sharing and addressing technology gaps - what's new and what works
• Development of novel inspection techniques for specialised applications.
